EAST MOLINE, Ill. — A railroad crossing in East Moline will be facing a nearly week-long closure due to construction work.
Illinois 5 / 92 in East Moline will be close at the BNSF Railway crossing between Morton Drive and Barstow Road on Monday, September 20th, lasting through Friday the 25th.
The closing is allowing for BNSF to replace the crossing and re-pave the approaches, overall updating the crossing area.
Traffic will be detoured to Morton Drive, 40th Street, 158th Street North, and Barstow Road for the duration.
Drivers should expect delays , allow extra time for trips, prepare for slow or stopped traffic, pay close attention to changed conditions, follow work zone signs, and obey speed limits.
