The QC COVID Coalition held their Tuesday, March 2 meeting to give vaccine rollout updates and speak on the newly-approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
In Rock Island County, officials said they completed the largest vaccination clinic so far earlier in the day, with over 1000 people recieving their shots at the TaxSlayer Center.
The county Health Department says that the arrival of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will create more opportunities for vaccine availability soon.
In Scott County, officials are preparing for a mass vaccination clinic at the Sears clinic location on Wednesday, March 3. This session is open to seniors age 65 and older who make an appointment.
1,170 doses of the Pfizer are available at this clinic due to an extra allocation provided by the Iowa Public Health Department.
The health department is expecting doses of the J & J vaccine to arrive later this week. Officials are primarily using this shipment to get vaccines to workers in the food, agriculture, manufacturing, and distribution fields.
