Bettendorf School District connecting with the community through Bett Academy

Parents with children in the district will get an opportunity to learn about the education goals of the Bettendorf district, along with many programs and services.

BETTENDORF, Iowa — For many families, parents want to be involved in a child's education and how what their children learn impact their future. The Bettendorf Community School District is hosting a series of meetings, called the Bett Academy, that are designed to allow families to hear what their teachers and administrators are doing for their kids.

In the inaugural meeting of the Bett Academy, attendees were given a strategic plan which encompassed the district's vision, mission and core values. The meeting broke down why the district is focusing on different values and how they are implemented on a daily basis.

The next Bett Academy meeting will be held on Dec. 11, allowing parents to interact with school board members to build a stronger vision for the school community and highlight some benefits and drawbacks to certain programs.

Meetings will continue until the end of the 2023-2024 school year, each focusing on different aspects of daily school functions. The dates for each of these meetings are as follows:

  • Dec. 11
  • Jan. 8
  • Feb. 20
  • March 4
  • Apr. 1
  • May 13

To participate in these meetings registration is required, and either be completed by emailing cmiller@bettendorf.k12.ia.us, or by calling the district office at (563) 359-3681. Locations for each of these meetings changes throughout the year, and once registered, families will receive further correspondences about where meetings will be held.
