Should Thanksgiving pizza be on the menu this year?

Why carefully calculate your Thanksgiving plate when you could just enjoy all the flavors in a single slice?

MOLINE, Ill. — Thanksgiving is right around the corner and every year it seems we try and try to fit everything possible on our plates but struggle.

What if there was another way?

This year DiGiorno launched a Thanksgiving pizza but News 8's David Bohlman wanted to see if this is something that could be easily made at home.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Pizza Crust
  • Jar of gravy (we used Turkey flavored gravy)
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Frozen, grilled chicken slices (thawed) and diced into bite-sized pieces. You could also use turkey in place of chicken.
  • Box of stuffing mix (cooked according to box instructions)
  • Can of cranberry sauce
  • Salt/Pepper to taste

Here's how to do it:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°.
  2. Place your pizza crust on an oven safe pizza pan.
  3. Put a generous amount of gravy on the crust (this is acting like the sauce of your pizza)
  4. Sprinkle a hefty amount of both cheeses on the crust
  5. Put chicken (or turkey, whichever you're using) on the crust
  6. Add dollops of stuffing throughout the pizza
  7. Do the same with the cranberry sauce
  8. Salt and Pepper to taste
  9. Bake for 15 mins or until golden brown
  10. Enjoy!
