The John Deere Classic is kicking off its 31st annual Birdies for Charity fundraising drive. In 2023, the drive raised $14,102,833 for almost 480 charities.

MOLINE, Ill. — The John Deere Classic is kicking off its 2024 Birdies for Charity fundraising drive.

On Monday, April 8, organizers of the annual golf tournament announced the beginning of their 31st annual fundraising drive, which raises money for nonprofits in the Quad Cities area. In 2023, the drive raised $14,102,833 for almost 480 charities.

According to Birdies for Charity organizers, John Deere will provide a $325,000 donation to kick off the fundraising drive. Proceeds from country music star Jake Owen's concert that will take place on Friday, April 19, at Rhythm City Casino will also raise money for Birdies for Charity. Direct donations can be made here.

Charities wanting to receive a portion of the money raised through the event must sign up by May 31. To be eligible, organizations must be certified 501(c)(3) and located within 125 miles of Silvis. Charities can register here.

“Our goal is to help local and regional charities raise money to provide them with the financial stability they need to continue to do their grassroots work in our outstanding Quad Cities community,” John Deere Classic Tournament Director Andrew Lehman said.

Since the JDC was founded in 1971, the tournament, along with its Birdies for Charity program, has helped raise over $174 million for charity.

The 2024 John Deere Classic will take place July 3-7 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis. Counting Crows and Lainey Wilson will perform during the tournament's "Concerts on the Course" series.
