Student musicians from the QC Rock Academy are partnering with QC Custom Tees for a night of music on April 25. All proceeds will benefit Penguin Project of the QC.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Get ready to rock out at the "Color Outside The Lines" event on Thursday, April 25, benefitting Penguin Project of the Quad Cities.

QC Custom Tees and QC Rock Academy are joining forces for an evening of music, creativity and community spirit at Common Chord - Home of the Redstone Room at 129 Main St. in Davenport.

Three QC Rock Academy student bands — 7 Ark, Mercury's Crown and Impossible Wonder — will be performing. There will also be a chance for audience members to print unique event t-shirts on-site with QC Custom Tees. Concertgoers can also join in on a 50/50 raffle entirely supporting the Penguin Project.

The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and tickets are $5 at the door. Kids 12 and under get in for free.

Penguin Project of the Quad Cities gives students with disabilities the chance to take the stage in special theatre productions. Children are assigned an age-level peer to act their parts out with as they perform in front of a live audience. It's all about equipping the students with communication and socialization skills as well as self-confidence and support.

Tune into The Current from 4 to 5 p.m. on weekdays to catch live interviews impacting you, your family and your hometown as well as all of the biggest headlines of the day.
