Families can 'Journey the World' with the Girl Scouts

All children are invited to the annual Girl Scouts event in East Moline on April 20. Grab your 'passport' to interactive booths representing different countries.

Girl Scouts at the 'Journey the World' event

EAST MOLINE, Ill. — Join the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois at the annual 'Journey the World' event on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Children, regardless of their involvement in Boys or Girl Scouts, can visit a multitude of interactive booths representing different countries.

At check-in, kids will receive a 'passport' for their journey. Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy art, dancing, music and more from cultures all over the world. 

There will be several interactive activities, such as crafting indoor snowballs, making s'mores and flying kites. Piglets Pups will have therapy dogs on hand for children to meet, and Star Labs will help kids see the night sky worldwide as well as constellations. John Deere will be bringing a combine and its Augmented Reality Welding Simulator. There will also be a giant dance party. 

This will be at The Bend XPO in East Moline from noon to 4 p.m. Attendees can register ahead of time here. Tickets are $10 for children and $5 for adults. Walk-in tickets the day of the event will be $15 for both children and adults.

Girls in grades K-12 are also encouraged to consider signing up for the Girl Scouts or renewing their membership at this event. New and renewed members will receive a free shirt and a superhero cape.
