Several events are being planned in memory of Breasia Terrell.

One memorial that was held for Breasia was at Centennial Park downtown Davenport on Thursday.  The community brought purple balloons to tie on the rails along the Mississippi River as well as other items like teddy bears, flowers and photos.

Here is a list of memorial events in memory of Breasia Terrell:

Friday, April 2: A candlelight vigil is planned for 7 p.m. on Credit Island.

Sunday, April 4: A community Easter egg hunt in honor of Breasia Terrell at Veterans Memorial Park. 

Monday, April 5: An evening of prayer at 6 p.m. at LeClaire Park in Davenport

Saturday, April 10: Turn Maquoketa Purple for Breasia -Residents in Maquoketa are asked to show support for Breasia's family by wearing purple, posting purple hearts in your window, or showcasing other purple decorations.

Sunday, April 18: A remote event is encouraging the community to "turn our city purple for Breasia," by hanging purple lights inside your window, planting purple flowers, posting purple hearts, and more.

Breasia, a 10-year-old Davenport girl, went missing July 10, 2020. More than nine months later, her remains were found in a lake in Clinton County north of Dewitt, Iowa.

A homicide investigation is ongoing and there is currently no timeline for potential charges, according to Davenport Police Chief Paul Sikorski.
