MOLINE, Ill. — Strong thunderstorms, with a low possibility of severe conditions, will develop in western and central Iowa Thursday and move east. The storm system comes after some showers during the first half of the day, which were mostly confined to the Iowa side of the News 8 viewing region.

The next round is set to move mainly into the Illinois side from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. The threat of severe weather remains low at a 1 out of 5 risk. Primary threats include damaging winds and hail, but the National Weather Service Quad Cities says a tornado can't be ruled out.

Temperatures are likely to stay in the 70s for the rest of the day with rain coming to an end around midnight. Temperatures will be in the mid-50s overnight.

Friday will be an absolutely beautiful spring day with mostly sunny skies and highs around the low to mid-70s.
