Caitlin Clark on WQAD News 8: Indiana Fever vs. New York Liberty Saturday at 12 p.m.

WQAD is airing 19 Indiana Fever games for free during the 2024 season, beginning on Thursday, May 16.

INDIANAPOLIS — WQAD is airing 19 Indiana Fever games for free during the 2024 season, beginning on Thursday, May 16 when Caitlin Clark and the Fever host the New York Liberty.

The Indiana Fever announced Wednesday that WQAD will join 11 additional markets to create an unprecedented 12-market footprint to air the Fever games. 

The Quad Cities and News 8 viewing area will be able to watch No. 1 overall draft pick and Iowa Hawkeye legend Caitlin Clark, 2023 No. 1 overall pick and WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston and the exciting Fever roster as they make a push to return to the playoffs.

Notably, TEGNA worked with the WNBA to add coverage of these games in Iowa, with WQAD and WOI in Des Moines joining the roster of stations that will broadcast games.

“This is a pivotal moment for our Fever team and women’s basketball, more broadly, and this groundbreaking partnership with TEGNA will ensure more fans than ever will be able to watch this historic season,” said Rick Fuson, Pacers Sports and Entertainment chief executive officer.

The broadcast schedule will include 19 Fever games, with 11 airing on WQAD's main channel and eight airing on MyTV8-3. All game times are listed in Central Time.

  • Monday, June 10  — 6 p.m. @ Connecticut (WQAD 8.3, MyTV8-3)

Clark and the Fever host the New York Liberty in the first game airing for free on WQAD on Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. CT.
