NFL Draft: Who did the Chicago Bears select?

The Bears selected USC QB Caleb Williams and Washington WR Rome Odunze in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

DETROIT — With the organization's first No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick since 1947, the Chicago Bears picked USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

With the selection of Williams, a projected franchise quarterback, the Bears spent their next pick, the ninth overall, on Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze.

With Williams and Odunze onboard, the Bears have just two selections remaining in the draft, picks #75 and #122.

Here's the full slate of the Bears' draft picks:

  • Round One, Pick #1: Caleb Williams, QB, 6-foot-1, 214 pounds, USC
    • Scouting report: Mahomes-esque traits with the instincts, mobility and arm talent to break down a defense even when it does everything right. The only question about the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is playing within structure because the structure so often broke down at USC.
  • Round One, Pick #9 - Rome Odunze: WR, 6-2, 212, Washington
    • Scouting report: Exceptional ball skills and reliable hands. Not quite as explosive as Harrison and Nabers but Penix's top target was probably more consistent.
  • Round Three, Pick #75 - Kiran Amegadjie: OL, Yale
  • Round Four, Pick #122 - Tory Taylor: P, Iowa
  • Round Five, Pick #144 - Austin Booker: DL, Kansas
