MOLINE, Ill. — The Quad City Storm are looking for a new head coach.

The team announced on social media Wednesday morning they are moving on from Dave Pszenyczny after six years with the team.

Storm President Brian Rothenberger told News 8:

"Dave has done some great things, he's put some incredible work into this team and I don't doubt his passion for making this work... This year, we thought we had a team that should still be playing right now and this is not the case. I think people will look back and really have a ton of appreciation for Dave. Getting started in this league is a challenge and Dave persevered through a lot of tough times and negativity... I think that's really what people are going to remember Dave for."

The Storm are coming off a strong year, setting a franchise mark in attendance this past season. With that in mind, Rothenberger said the team anticipates a lot of interest in the job, and he said he believed the position would be filled within the next couple of months.

The Storm finished the 2023-24 season 32-23-1 and reached the SPHL playoffs, where they fell in three games to Roanoke in the first round.

Pszenyczny has been the only coach in franchise history. In five seasons with the Storm, the team finished with a record of 121-123-25 and reached the playoffs twice.
