Mobile home fire under investigation in Milan

Firefighters extinguished a mobile home fire in Milan Thursday morning. The blaze is under investigation.

MILAN, Ill. — Firefighters extinguished a mobile home fire in Milant Thursday morning. 

Officials responded to Woodland Park, A Hauck Homes Neighborhood around 3:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, flames could be seen coming from one side of the unoccupied home. That side of the fire melted in the blaze.

According to Coal Valley Fire Chief David Dunham, neighboring agencies were called in to assist with the fire. By 4:30 a.m., Dunham said the fire had been put out, and nearby homes were not damaged. 

Dunham went on to say this incident remains under investigation and that a representative from the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office would assist in the investigation. News 8 has reached out to the state fire marshal's office for more information, and is waiting to hear back.
