Actor, writer Kal Penn to speak at Zoom event hosted by the Silvis Public Library

The virtual talk featuring actor Kal Penn will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m.

SILVIS, Ill — The Silvis Public Library is bringing in a nationally-renowned actor for a community discussion.

The library will host a Zoom event featuring actor and writer Kal Penn on Tuesday, May 7, 7 p.m. Penn has appeared in the "Harold and Kumar" franchise, "House" and "Designated Survivor," and he released his first book, "You Can't Be Serious," in 2021. He also served as the President’s Liaison to Young Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders from 2009 to 2011.

Bridget Petrites with the Evanston Public Library will join in the conversation with Penn.
