Quad Cities dog parks to reopen

Parks were closed due to concerns about the spread of an infectious canine respiratory disease.

BETTENDORF, Iowa — Quad Cities dog owners will be able to return to the community's dog parks in just a few days.

Crow Creek Dog Park in Bettendorf is set to reopen on Friday, Jan. 5 after being closed in November due to the spread of an infectious canine respiratory disease. According to Bettendorf Parks and Recreation, the spread of that virus has now slowed enough to allow the park to reopen.

Crow Creek isn't the only park that'll be swinging its gates open again. Several other dog parks around the Quad Cities that were closed because of the virus will also be reopening the following day, on Saturday, Jan. 6. The list of parks includes:

  • Centennial Dog Park - 315 S. Marquette Street, Davenport
  • Robin Creek Dog Park – 4411 N. Marquette Street, Davenport
  • Butterworth Dog Park – 15th St. and 8th Ave., Moline
  • Greenvalley Dog Park – 6009 50th Ave., Moline
  • Eleanor Wallace Dog Park – 28th St. and 78th Ave. West, Rock Island
