City of Muscatine auctioning surplus cars, appliances, equipment

Surplus cars, appliances and other equipment will go up for auction starting Nov. 13.

MUSCATINE, Iowa — The City of Muscatine is putting more than 20 cars, appliances, and other equipment up for online auction from Nov. 13 to Nov. 27. 

Bidders can go to the public surplus website and search for the City of Muscatine. Registration is required to view and bid on items.

Here are the items planned to go up for auction:

  • 2008 Chevy Trailblazer from PD — drivable, high miles
  • 2009 Chevy Colorado from PM — not drivable
  • 2012 Chevy Tahoe from PD — bad engine
  • 1995 GMC pickup truck from WPCP — drivable, rough condition
  • 2009 F-350 1-ton dump truck from CD, WPCP — not drivable
  • 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck from PM — not drivable
  • 2004 GMC pickup truck from WPCP — not drivable
  • Portable air compressor from WPCP — operational
  • IBM typewriter from Transit — working
  • Heating air handler unit from WPCP — working when removed
  • Chiller unit from the Housing Department — working
  • Large glass display case from City Hall
  • Small glass display case from City Hall
  • Two old council seats from City Hall
  • Bandsaw from WPCP — cuts crooked
  • Wooden display stand from the Library
  • Leather couch from the Library
  • Wooden podium from the Library
  • AV cart from the Library
  • Calculators/adding machines from the Library
  • Hanging file organizer from the Library
