Illinois Conservation Foundation releasing holiday ornaments

The first in the series depicts Starved Rock State Park.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — If you're looking for a gift for the nature-lover in your life, the Illinois Conservation Foundation might have you covered.

The ICF is releasing the first in a new series of holiday ornaments to help raise money towards restoration and revitalization projects at Illinois State Parks. The ornament depicts Starved Rock State Park, and it's made of enamel and measures three inches tall.

“This ornament represents a tangible way for supporters to contribute to our mission of conserving Illinois’ natural treasures,” Steve Ettinger of the Illinois Conservation Foundation said. “Every year we plan to feature a different state park, making this a fun collectors’ series for Illinois’ outdoor enthusiasts. We have a few parks on our short list and would love to hear from fellow park lovers which ones they want to see highlighted in the upcoming years.”

Each ornament costs $15.99, and they can be purchased here.
