Igor's Bistro set to close next month

Co-owner Kathy Lopez announced the restaurant will close its doors on March 14.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — A popular Rock Island restaurant is closing its doors after seven years of service.

According to a recent Facebook video, Igor's Bistro, a year-round Halloween-themed restaurant, will be closing on March 14.

"After a lot of thought and consideration, our restaurant here in Rock Island will be closing," co-owner Kathy Lopez said in the video. "Rick and I have put a lot of time, care and love into this place for the past seven years and it's time for us to do some downsizing and take a different route with our product. We have some exciting plans in the works."

Lopez said they would sell menu items until they were gone, adding that some favorite dishes might run out before the closing date. According to the post, the restaurant could close before March 14 if they run out of food by then. Gift certificates will be honored until the restaurant closes.

The restaurant will have a memorabilia sale after closing, where various decorations and items will be available. Details on the event will be posted on the restaurant's Facebook page.

"We want to thank all of our loyal customers, for their patronage and continued support. We truly appreciate it, more than you know," Lopez concluded, adding they wouldn't have made it through the COVID pandemic without the support.
