Moline house fire displaces 2 people, 3 pets

The fire occurred at the 700 block of 43rd Avenue Tuesday morning, according to a press release.

MOLINE, Ill. — Two people and three pets have been displaced following a house fire early Tuesday morning in Moline, officials say.

On Tuesday, May 7, around 5:45 a.m., the Moline Fire Department responded to the 700 block of 43rd Avenue after receiving a report about smoke inside the residence.

According to a press release, first responders arrived at the scene within eight minutes. The house was a small, one-story residence with light smoke inside. The owners told officials that the smoke began after the thunderstorm passed through the area.

Firefighters were able to find a fire in the attic and quickly extinguished the flames. Two people and three pets were displaced from their home due to the incident but no injuries were reported, according to the release.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Moline Fire Department Bureau of Investigations.
