1 dead in early morning car accident in Davenport

The 25-year-old male driver was ejected from the vehicle.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Update:

The victim in the fatal crash from Monday morning has been identified as 25-year-old Anthony Carter-Eliis of Davenport. Davenport Police released the identity on Wednesday and said the incident remains under investigation.

One man is dead after a single-car accident early Monday morning, Oct. 23, according to a release sent by the Davenport Police Department.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:51 a.m. in the 5900 block of North Brady Street.

A preliminary investigation by Davenport Police shows that a single vehicle was traveling northbound on Brady Street when it left the road, grazed a pole and came to rest north of 59th Street.

The 25-year-old male driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was transported to a local hospital by Medic EMS, where he was pronounced deceased. 

A 16-year-old passenger was also transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Two other adult passengers were also treated and released on the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released, and the accident remains under investigation.
