DAVENPORT, Iowa — A bicyclist has died after being struck by a pickup truck in Davenport Tuesday afternoon.
According to Davenport police, authorities responded to the 7000 block of North Division Street just after 3:30 p.m. to a report of a crash involving a bicyclist. Police say that a pickup truck was driving southbound on Division Street when it struck the bicyclist.
The bicyclist, a 27-year-old man, died as a result of his injuries. The pickup truck driver, a 54-year-old man was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
The names of the bicyclist and the driver are not being released until families are notified.
The crash is being investigated by the Davenport Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
