ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — A woman faces a single charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm after allegedly shooting at another person in the 2900 block of 13th Ave. early Saturday morning, according to the Rock Island Police Department.

Police arrested Dontea C. Washington, 34, on Saturday. The entire incident began at about 12:45 a.m. when police responded to a shots-fired call. The caller said someone had shot at them. They were able to identify the vehicle that the suspects were driving at the time of the incident.

Officers found the shooting scene and surveillance video that captured the incident. They also found and stopped the car near the location of the shooting.

Police also reported that no one was injured in the shooting and no property damage was found.

Police then identified Washington as the shooter and arrested her. The press release from police says she was held at the Rock Island County Jail without bond pending her first court appearance.

Online court records say Washington made her first court appearance on Saturday. She was remanded on a $50,000 bond after that. She was able to post her bond, according to the Rock Island Police Department.

Her preliminary hearing is set for May 23.
