MOLINE, Ill. — Moline police have arrested a man in connection to an Apr. 9 vape shop robbery.

Donovan D. Cannon, 29, of Eldridge, was arrested in Park View and has been charged with aggravated robbery and theft.

The charges stem from a robbery that occurred around noon on Tuesday at Greenleaf Tobacco & Vape in Moline. Police say that Cannon told a store employee that he would shoot them if they called the police but did not display a weapon, before stealing tobacco merchandise and fleeing.

Police say they recovered an airsoft gun and other pieces of evidence, including shaved hair braids. Cannon shaved his head following the robbery and as a result looked significantly different from his appearance in surveillance video of the robbery, according to police.

Cannon is in custody at the Scott County Jail pending extradition to Illinois.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office assisted Moline police with the arrest.
