The Brantley Francis Foundation has been selected as the Three Degree recipient for February 2024

The Brantley Francis Foundation will receive $20 from Eriksen Chevrolet every time WQAD forecasts the high temperature within three degrees.

The Brantley Francis Foundation has been selected as the February recipient of Eriksen Chevrolet’s Three Degree Guarantee.

For each day of the month the actual temperature is within three degrees of the forecasted high temperature, the Brantley Francis Foundation will receive $20 from Eriksen Chevrolet in Milan, Illinois. Each night, the WQAD Storm Track 8 team will predict the next day’s high temperature. The forecasted temperatures are compared to the actual temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service.

The Brantley Francis Foundation was founded in 2019 by Matt and Jeanna Francis, in memory of their son Brantley. Brantley was three years old when he died in 2017 after fighting cancer since the day he was born. The mission of the Foundation is to positively influence pediatric cancer patients and their families, plus raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. Since starting the Brantley Francis Foundation, the Francis family has provided over 180 care packages called “BFF Bags” to pediatric cancer patients across the United States, filled with toys and gift cards.

The Foundation has also donated $100,000 to research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and paid for an inpatient room in Brantley’s name at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Brantley's sister, Brooklyn also continues to send sibling boxes to siblings of cancer warriors.
