Bettendorf Rotary Acre of Warmth Blanket Drive has been selected as the December recipient of Eriksen Chevrolet’s Three Degree Guarantee.

For each day of the month that the actual temperature is within three degrees of the forecasted high temperature, Bettendorf Rotary Acre of Warmth Blanket Drive will receive $20 from Eriksen Chevrolet in Milan, Illinois. Each night, the WQAD Storm Track 8 team will predict the next day’s high temperature. The forecasted temperatures are compared to the actual temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service.

In 2023, the Bettendorf Rotary Acre of Warmth Blanket Drive celebrates three years of keeping individuals and families in need warm during the winter months. Each year, the number of blankets they hope to collect increases - this year, they have a goal to collect over 4,000 blankets. The Bettendorf Rotary envisions that they could cover several acres with the blankets if laid corner to corner. They will be collecting blankets until December 17.  Once the Bettendorf Rotary collects all the blankets, they will be distributing the blankets throughout the Quad Cities to non-profits that help homeless and low-income individuals and families.
