'You break it, you own it': Nike to release custom Caitlin Clark shirts

The shirts might look familiar to anyone who tuned in to the game.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa guard Caitlin Clark has made NCAA history — and now she has the Nike shirt to prove it.

Nike released shirt designs celebrating the West Des Moines native's accomplishment: the iconic Nike swoosh with "You break it, you own it" on the front and Clark's last name and No. 22 on the back.

The shirts might look familiar to anyone who tuned in to the game: Clark's high school coach Kristin Meyer and fellow Hawkeyes all donned the new drip on the court Thursday night.

Clark became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA women's basketball history against Michigan when she made a 3-pointer from the logo on her home court, Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

With that shot, she surpassed former record holder Kelsey Plum, whose 3,527 points for the Washington Huskies were the previous gold standard of women's college basketball.

Though a huge accomplishment, the accolade was far from unexpected: Clark was already the career leading scorer in the Big Ten Conference and only needed eight points Thursday to best Plum's record.

Where can I buy the Caitlin Clark Nike t-shirt?

The Clark-inspired shirts are not for sale quite yet, though the Nike website teases that long-sleeve ($40), short-sleeve ($35) and kid ($30, short-sleeve) options are "coming soon".

Interested customers can put in their email address to be notified when the shirts are released.

The shirt is also available for purchase on Fanatics.com, though nothing will ship before March 6, 2024 as the release is part of a "special event item".

When can I watch Clark and Iowa play next?

No. 4 Iowa (23-3) will play No. 14 Indiana (21-3) on the road on Thursday, Feb. 22. The game tips off at 7 p.m. and is streaming exclusively on Peacock.
