Children's Museum dinosaurs get glasses ahead of solar eclipse

On Monday, museum workers put glasses over the eyes of the lifelike prehistoric looking creatures.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is making sure everyone is protecting their eyes during the eclipse.

That includes the dinosaurs outside their building.

On Monday, workers put glasses over the eyes of the lifelike prehistoric looking creatures.

"We like to dress our dinosaurs up for different occasions they always dress up for Halloween or Christmas," said John Riefler, the museum's science program manager. "We've sometimes put a big basketball or football under the foot, depending on the sports season, so it's just another opportunity to do something cool or fun with our gigantic dinosaurs."

If you are looking for something fun to do with the kids, you could check out the museum's Eclipse Extravaganza.

There will be giveaways, activities, and festivities to celebrate the historic event.

Solar glasses will be available with one per person, while supplies last.
