Bruce Rauner will face incumbent Pat Quinn in the race to become the next governor of Illinois.
With all votes counted in the state, Rauner had 40% of all votes with more than 323,100 ballots cast in his favor.
The next-closest candidate in the Republican primary was Kirk Dillard, who had 37% - more than 301,800 votes – cast for him.
Bill Brady conceded after he had just 15% of the votes, and state treasurer Dan Rutherford had 8% of votes cast.
