Traffic will be impacted on River Drive in Moline, on I-88 in eastern Rock Island County, and on Kimberly Road in Davenport.
These construction projects are starting up on Monday, May 4, 2015.
What’s happening: Crews will be replacing the railroad crossing on Kimberly Road west of Eastern Avenue.
What to watch for: Kimberly Road will be closed in alternate directions. Drivers will have to follow a marked detour from Eastern Avenue to 53rd Street to the Brady and Harrison Streets corridor.
The project was expected to be done by May 8. Click here to see how businesses in that area are dealing with the temporary closure. 39th Street in Davenport can be used to get to businesses on Kimberly Road during the closure.

What’s happening: Workers are going to start painting the 66th Avenue North Bridge over I-88 between Joslin and Hillsdale. Once that’s complete, crews will paint the 226th Street North Bridge over I-88, roughly two miles east of the I-80 interchange.
What to watch for: Traffic will be down to one lane in each direction. Each painting project will take about one month.
The entire $342,648 project should be finished by mid-July.
What’s happening: Crews will resume their work on River Drive/Third Avenue by placing new concrete pavement on River Drive from 19th Street to 23rd Street. This project began in September of 2014 when workers replaced the water mains and sanitary sewers.
What to watch for: The River Drive exit for traffic heading Illinois-bound on I-74 will be closed starting Monday, May 11. The exit was temporarily reopened for the winter, but needs to be closed again for crews to complete the paving for River Drive and its ramp connections.
The $6.9 million project is expected to be done by the end of May.
