Police are investigating the report of a South Carolina high school teacher who says a student spread a nude picture of her through text messages and social media.
Authorities say 33-year-old Union County High School teacher Leigh Anne Arthur filed an incident report Feb. 18. The teacher says a 16-year-old boy took her phone from her desk that day and with his own phone took pictures of nude images that Arthur had on her phone. She says he then sent them to others.
Arthur told local media outlets she was monitoring the hallway during a class change when her phone was taken. But Union County School District Superintendent David Eubanks says Arthur had left her class unattended and was given the choice of being fired or resigning for failing to supervise her class.
Arthur resigned Feb. 24, and a working phone number for her could not be found. Some students have started an online petition to bring Arthur back to the school.
