A statewide tornado drill scheduled in Illinois was delayed because of Tuesday’s snow storm.

The drill was scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 but a winter storm bringing between 2 and 12 inches to counties in the northern half of the state caused National Weather Service officials to delay the drill.

The statewide tornado drill for Illinois was rescheduled to 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013.  All NWS offices will issue test tornado warnings at that time, including test warnings on NOAA All Hazards weather radios and on the Emergency Alert System.
