Various salads, slaw, and dip products are part of a voluntary recall in Iowa and Illinois.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Garden-Fresh Foods has expanded a recall set in place in September of 2013. Products may be contaminated with an organism, called Listeria monocytogenes, that can cause serious or fatal infections in children, frail or elderly people, or those with weakened immune systems.

The FDA reported that symptoms may include high-fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

According to the FDA, these products are sold in various size containers from 6 oz to 18 oz packages and have been distributed among 14 states including Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri and Minnesota. Products within the recall include Market Pantry, Archer Farms, D'Amico and Sons, Finest Traditions, Spartan, and more. Click here for full list of products.

Anyone who has purchased any of the suspect products are urged to return them to the place they were purchased from for a full refund.

The FDA said that there have not been any reports of illness or complaints related to the recall.

Any questions may be directed to the company at 1-800-645-3367 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
