Police: Man tried to grab boy on bicycle

Police are looking for a man who reportedly attempted to pull a boy into his minivan.

Police say they’re searching for a man who reportedly tried to pull a boy into his minivan.

Police were called to a report of an attempted child abduction near 275th Street west of 115th Avenue, north of Donahue, Iowa just before 5 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013.

Police say a man in a grey minivan approached a boy on a bicycle and “grabbed (the boy) by the arm in an attempt to pull him into the van.”

The boy struggled with the man and got away.  The man reportedly jumped into his minivan and drove off.

The suspect was described as a 40- to 50-year-old white man with dark hair, 6-feet tall, and about 200 to 250 pounds.  He was wearing a plaid, black and red flannel-type shirt and ripped jeans.

Officials say the man was in a grey or silver Ford minivan with a white a license plate and red lettering. There is also some damage to the vehicle.

Police say if you have any information call the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. If you see the described vehicle call 911.
