Storms that passed through on Thursday, May 30, 2013 produced wind damages
A power pole and lines down blocked southbound lanes of US-67 in Mercer County, Illinois. Traffic was rerouted in Viola.
A trained spotter reported trees were knocked down in winds estimated at 70 miles per hour just south of Aledo as well.
The National weather service reported a trained spotter clocked winds in Muscatine at 75 mph just after 4:30 p.m.
The Henderson County Emergency Manager reported trees and power lines down in the county, and said properties in Oquawka sustained significant damage.
A spotter also reported one-inch hail in Muscatine County.
Wind damage was also reported in Conesville in Muscatine County, where winds reportedly damaged a mobile home and trees were down throughout the town.
The Des Moines County Iowa Emergency Manager reported wind damage from a thunderstorm at 4 p.m. in Burlington. From that storm, officials at the Burlington Airport reported a wind gust of 81 mph.
High winds upward of 70 mph were reported. News 8 viewers and spotters have reported numerous trees down.
