Starting Friday, March 11, and running through St. Patrick’s Day March 17, people are able to access Irish genealogical records online for free at Ancestry.com. The site is offering millions of Catholic parish records from Ireland including marriage, baptism, confirmation, and burial records.
According to FOX8, the documents are in English and Latin dating from 1655 to 1915. The site indexed digitized documents from the National Library of Ireland, making searches easier and faster.
More than 33 million Americans claim Irish heritage in the states, according to the US Census Bureau.
