3 Iowans arrested in scratch ticket scam, authorities say

Authorities say three people have been arrested in connection with a lottery scratch ticket scam.

STORM LAKE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say three people have been arrested in connection with a lottery scratch ticket scam.

The Iowa Public Safety Department says the three were arrested Wednesday, July 27, 2016. An investigation began after a winning ticket for $250,000 was presented June 17 at the Storm Lake regional office of the Iowa Lottery. The prize has not been paid.

Twenty-year-old Ashley Bosler, of Sioux Rapids, is charged with theft of a lottery ticket or share and aiding and abetting. Twenty-six-year-old Johnny Long, of Sioux Rapids, is charged with theft of a lottery ticket or share. Forty-two-year-old Sally Bosler, of Cedar Rapids, is charged with aiding and abetting. Online court records don’t list the names of attorneys who could be contacted to comment for the three.
