Clinton wooing Republicans on the fence about Trump

George W. Bush’s former Secretary of the Treasury says he’s backing Hillary Clinton this November, even though he’s a Republican.

George W. Bush's former Secretary of the Treasury says he's backing Hillary Clinton this November, even though he's a Republican.

Hank Paulson served with Bush from 2006 to 2009. He wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post, saying he hopes Clinton can bring Americans together to help strengthen the economy. He also took aim at Donald Trump, criticizing his business record.

Paulson wrote that he hopes other conservatives will support Clinton, too. And some already are. Bush's National Security Adviser and Deputy Secretary have also already endorsed Clinton.

This new news comes just days after 56 businessmen and women, many of whom identify as conservatives, pledged their support to Clinton.

James Cicconi, an AT&T Senior Executive Vice President who worked in the White House under presidents George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and has backed every GOP presidential candidate of the past 40 years is on team Clinton. So is former General Motors CEO Daniel Akerson.

Now, Clinton's attention is turning to Wall Street, where she's trying to win the support of many Wall Street donors, who have previously supported Republicans.
