The Quad Cities adult improv comedy troupe “The Blacklist” combines a riot of comedy with a real adult spelling bee for a hilarious good time in Rock Island.

Bent River Brewing sponsors “The Drinkin’ Spelling Bee” and offers 50-cent drafts all evening.

“This is a real spelling bee that happens on stage with audience participants,” says Blacklist manager George Strader.  “There are all kinds of crazy and hilarious antics that happen during the competition, and a great prize package for the winner!”

Winners are also invited back to defend their title of “Drinkin’ Spelling Bee Champion.”

It all happens at The Speakeasy, next to Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse at 1818 Third Avenue in Rock Island.

The first performance is Friday, July 28, 2012.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the bee begins at 8 p.m.  Admission is $5 per person and includes a souvenir cup for your beer.  Make reservations by calling the Circa ’21 box office at (309) 786-7733, extension 2.

You must be 21 or older to attend.
