Suspect at large after Davenport O’Reilly Auto Parts armed robbery

Police are searching for a suspect who they say robbed an O’Reilly Auto Parts store with a handgun on Monday, March 18.

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Police are searching for a suspect who they say robbed an O'Reilly Auto Parts store with a handgun on Monday, March 18.

Police got the call at 7:46 a.m., Major Jeff Bladel of the Davenport Police Department said. At least five police cars including a crime scene unit responded to the location at 2020 E Locust St. A K-9 unit was deployed to search the property.

According to a press release, the suspect came into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. Police are not saying what kind of gun the suspect had or how much money was taken.

Officials describe the suspect as a tall, white male with a skinny build wearing dark clothing. His face was covered during the robbery.

The suspect remains at large. There is no other information at this time.
