Local blood donations are falling quickly because of the pandemic.
The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is now fighting to avoid a shortage.
The blood center is offering expanded collection hours at many donor centers and is working to schedule mobile blood drives to make up for dozens of cancellations.
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos made an appearance to donate blood on Thursday, March 19. She says she is encouraging people in our area to boost the local blood supply.
