East Moline photography studio first to offer 360, VR wedding shoots

JW Photography is pioneering the use of 360 video and photos in wedding photography. The owner says it offers couples a chance to relive their wedding day.

EAST MOLINE, Ill. — For many people, their wedding day is one they never want to forget. Now a business in the Rust Belt in East Moline is offering a unique way to relive your special day.

Owner of JW Photography Stephanie Wilcox is capturing weddings in 360-degree photos and videos, offering couples an immersive way to experience their wedding day.

She uses a special 360-degree camera to shoot different highlights of a wedding, like the bride's walk down the aisle or the newlywed's grand entrance to their reception.

"So I can drop it somewhere and it's just a fly on the wall," Wilcox says. "I'm able to back off the scene and just capture whatever it is we want to capture for that time."

You can view the images and videos easily on Facebook, which is compatible with 360 technology. But now JW Photography is offering packages where you also get a new Oculus Rift VR Headset to get a truly immersive experience with your wedding images.

"To feel the emotions they felt on their wedding day and to really experience that all over again and remember how much love there was on that day and there's so much more to relive that experience and feel what it was like to be at your wedding day, because you're really there," Wilcox says.
