If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. It's way too cold for lemonade though, so we're going to take advantage of these frigid temperatures and make something even better.

On Friday, February 1st during Nailed It Or Failed It on Good Morning Quad Cities and WQAD News 8 at 11am, we made Ice Marbles! All you need are balloons, food coloring, water, and it to be super duper cold outside. We definitely have that last one covered, right!?

These should have been very easy, if we followed the instructions correctly. However, we had a big FAIL on GMQC. Click the video above to see what happened.

After GMQC, we moved to a different room with a different faucet to try to correct our mistake and it seemed to work:

However, the TA DA moment was a FAIL in itself. The marble made by one of our Account Executives, Trisha, turned out great - because it sat outside for several days. Ours - made at 7:30am - did not freeze all the way and this happened:

After this week, we definitely needed a cocktail. It was Jon's turn to do Ketz's Concoction, and once again he decided to use that darn Butterscotch Schnapps. He made a tasty drink called a Buttery 'Ripple' - the second word of which can be interchanged with another six-letter word that rhymes with it... Jon's words, not mine.

Here's what you need and how you make it:

Ingredients:

1.5 fluid ounces Irish cream liqueur
1.5 fluid ounces butterscotch schnapps
1.5 fluid ounces of coffee flavored liqueur
Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the vodka, butterscotch schnapps and coffee liqueur. Shake well. Strain into shot glasses and serve.
