Vehicle catches fire in Henry County, Iowa, total loss

The driver had just finished some maintenance work on the vehicle when he took the car out for a test drive. It caught fire shortly after.

HENRY COUNTY, Iowa — The day before Christmas Eve, police at the Henry County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle fire.

When first responders arrived on-scene, the caller — who was identified as Scott Johnson — told police he had been working on some of the mechanical components of the vehicle. Johnson had taken the vehicle out for a test drive when the fire began at the corner of 140th Street and Kentucky Avenue.

After the fire was extinguished, the car was deemed a total loss. As for Johnson, he was able to escape the vehicle unharmed.
