Dixon Police identify body in Rock River

The body of a white male was found downstream from the Peoria Avenue Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.

DIXON, Ill. — Update: The man who was found dead in the Rock River in Dixon on Tuesday has been identified as 68-year-old Raymond Reidl of Dixon. 

The Dixon Police Department, the Illinois State Police CSI Division, and the Lee County Coroner's Office are investigating the death, as an autopsy is pending.

One person was found dead in the Rock River in Dixon on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, around 2:30 p.m., Dixon Police responded to reports of a deceased person located in the Rock River, downstream from the Peoria Avenue Bridge. After arriving on the scene, officers found a white male dead.

The investigation into the man's death is ongoing. Dixon Police aren't releasing the victim's name while next of kin is notified.
