MILAN, Ill. — Milan Christian Food Pantry has been selected as the July recipient for Eriksen Chevrolet’s Three Degree Guarantee.
For each day of the month that the actual temperature is within three degrees of the forecasted high temperature, the Milan Christian Food Pantry will receive $20 from Eriksen Chevrolet. Each night, the Storm Track 8 team will predict the next day’s high temperature. The forecasted temperatures are compared to the actual temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service.
The Milan Christian Food Pantry is a cooperative effort of five churches: St. Ambrose, St. Matthew Lutheran, Trinity United Methodist and First Presbyterian Church, all in Milan; and St. Patrick in Andalusia. The food pantry serves residents of Milan, Southwest Rock Island, Andalusia and Taylor Ridge. It currently serves approximately 280 families and about 870 people per month.
