The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory for several areas in and around the Quad Cities for Sunday, March 29.

The immediate Quad City area, including Dubuque, Jackson, Clinton, Scott, Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Carroll, Whiteside, Rock Island, Henry IL, Bureau, Putnam, Mercer, Henderson, Warren, and McDonough Counties, are under the wind advisory until 7 p.m.

The area is facing westward winds ranging from 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 40 and 50 mph. This wind is enough to blow down unsecured objects and tree limbs, knock out power, and create difficult driving conditions, particularly on roads that go north and south.

Other parts of the surrounding Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri areas are facing wind advisories that last until 1 p.m. or 7 p.m. depending on the area.

The National Weather Service recommends securing outdoor objects and using caution while driving.
