Our nice stretch of weather of late is still on track to get a bit more sticky followed by a few stormy moments.
Clouds this morning has given way to some sunshine this afternoon as a northbound warm front slowly drifted across the area. The passage will result in temperatures reaching just over 80 degrees for daytime highs.
Crank up the A/C because the passage will also lead to increasing humidity followed by the year's hottest so far on Tuesday with highs on track around 90 degrees. Throw in the added humidity and temperatures will feel close to 100!
By Wednesday, an approaching front from the northwest will interact with this heat and humidity sparking off a couple of drenching showers and strong thunderstorms especially later that afternoon into the evening.
In the days ahead, that same front will stall just to our south trimming some of the heat and humidity. However, the front will be close enough that a few ripples of energy riding along it may graze the area with a passing thunderstorm or two.
More heat building in by next week will lead to remnants of a tropical system from the south bringing a drenching rainfall potential by next Wednesday.
