Flooding projections for the Mississippi River and Rock River

Both rivers are in flood stage as of Monday, March 30. Here's where they're headed in the coming week.

The flooding Mississippi River is expected to crest on Tuesday, March 31. 

As of 3:30 p.m. Monday, the river at Rock Island stood at 16.25 feet. Flood stage is at 15 feet, moderate flooding begins at 16 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasts show the river will crest Tuesday at 16.4 feet.  The river is expected to dip below 16 feet on Friday, April 3.

The Rock River in Moline is expected to crest at major flood stage on Tuesday as well. At 3:30 on Monday, the river measured at 13.39 feet, which is in moderate flood stage. 

The river is expected to get back to minor flooding on Friday, April 3.
