The Quad Cities area was under a winter storm warning starting at 6 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015. It was set to last until Tuesday morning. Ice and high winds hit the area, causing problems for drivers and prompting street clean-up.
Clinton, Iowa: Calendar Parking was to take affect starting at 7 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. On odd-numbered days, park on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses, and vice-versa for even days. “The time frame between 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. is a transition period to move vehicles to the proper (even) side of the roadway without risk of penalty,” said a statement from the City Administrator. Vehicles in violation of this parking regulation could be ticketed.
Davenport, Iowa: A Snow Emergency was in affect starting at 5 p.m. Monday until 8 a.m. Tuesday. During that time drivers cannot park on Posted Snow Routes. Also, residents are urged to park off-street wherever possible. Downtown Davenport’s three parking ramps are open to the public for free until 8 a.m. Wednesday.
