Motorcycle loses control, lands in ditch, ejects driver on East Stagecoach Trail

APPLE RIVER, Ill. — After losing control of his vehicle, a motorcyclist crashed into a ditch Sunday, July 31 along East Stagecoach Trail in rural Apple River, according to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office.

The motorcyclist, 57-year-old Scott Sigler of Kenosha, Wisconsin, was traveling westbound on Stagecoach Trail. As he rounded a curve at about 11:10 a.m. Sunday, the motorcycle lost control when it went over some gravel in the roadway.

The motorcycle went off the right side of Stagecoach Trail about 600 feet north of North Hayes Road and landed in a ditch. In the crash, Sigler was ejected from the motorcycle, the sheriff's office said.

Sigler was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries. The crash remained under investigation by the sheriff's office as of Monday, Aug. 1.
